Why it matters. Haryana's revenue records — the record-of-rights, Jamabandi and mutation entries — are maintained under this Act as it applies in Haryana. These records are essential evidence in any land transaction, but courts have consistently held that revenue entries serve a fiscal purpose and do not by themselves confer title (see Jitendra Singh, 2021).
