Identify the serving body

Depending on location, water supply and sewerage may be provided by a municipal body, a development authority, an estate authority or not at all. In parts of Gurugram, metropolitan infrastructure is also handled by GMDA. Confirm for the specific parcel.

Checklist

  • Existing water and sewer connections, account numbers and capacity.
  • Storm-water drainage and site levels.
  • Trade-effluent quantity and quality for your process.
  • Whether your activity needs consent from the State Pollution Control Board for discharge.
  • Whether you will rely on groundwater (see the groundwater guide).

Who decides

The serving body grants connections; the Pollution Control Board decides consents; engineers design treatment and plumbing systems.
